Phillip Waisman earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2014, from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. “After graduation, I worked in construction but did not have a destination or specific life plan. I just knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. American Income Life Insurance Company (AIL) was a perfect fit. I was enticed to join AIL in 2015. I was attracted by the Company’s great pitch, its outstanding culture, and a group of people I wanted to learn from and be associated with,” recalls Phill. “I always wanted to be in leadership. As my responsibilities grew with AIL, my purpose and drive for working with this Company grew with it,” he adds.
What makes Phill uniquely qualified for his leadership role with AIL? “I can adopt new philosophies and adapt to the new technology age. Working with a very talented State General Agent (SGA), I learned from the best and then started to apply my own techniques to all areas of the business. Transparency and passion are my two core drivers,” he emphasizes. “Because of my skills, I’ve achieved a great deal with American Income Life. I’ve trained and helped lead three Top 10 Producers to qualify for the annual sales Convention. I developed and rolled out our Agency’s entire virtual sales process. I’ve been part of many SGA category wins and achieved national leadership recognition from the Home Office,” states Phill with pride.
What’s been most rewarding personally for Phill since joining AIL? “The development and growth the business demands puts you in the driver’s seat. You can be as busy or as free as you ultimately choose. Once you make the decision to do something big, you realize anything is possible. The income and renewals are impossible to find anywhere else. If I could restart my AIL career, I would have moved sooner to management, asked more questions, and focused more on recruiting, staffing, and budgeting,” affirms Phill.

Having played many sports while in college, Phill says, “Playing any sport or games is always a great way to spend my free time. I love to cook too, especially steak, and enjoy reading articles and watching documentaries. I have varied interests, but many of them revolve around my business. At home, I have two pets … exotic cats that are awesome,” he adds.
